OPERATOR GUIDE / DAILY ROUTINES
Standard Procedures
Before the Day Begins
Please plan approximately 30 minutes before the first booking for the following steps:

Ensure all headsets are fully charged (green LED lights up when plugged in).

Launch the latest Operator App on the PC and start the server.
-
Clean the lenses and all external cameras using a microfiber cloth.
-
Turn on all headsets (press and hold the power button for 4–5 seconds).
-
Launch the Laser Limbo app on each headset.
-
Use the "Auto Join" button in the headset to connect to the server.
-
Perform a re-calibration (via in-game menu, press the left menu button).
-
Keep headsets turned on and connect them to the charging cable in an upright position.
Before Each Session (Onboarding)
-
Welcome the group.
-
Play the onboarding video and maybe also the game modes video on the TV screen (about 5 minutes before the session starts).
-
Briefly explain controllers and game modes; answer any questions.
-
Ask the group to line up on the playfield, not in the waiting area.
-
Insert the BoboVR batteries into the headsets and connect the cable.
-
Briefly check if the mapping is accurate.
-
If not: perform a re-calibration.
-
-
Put on headsets one by one. Make sure it sit stable.
-
Set "Drone Waves" game mode in the Operator App for the first round
-
Send ready players to the spawn point to let the match start.
-
Change maps and game modes at will during the session.
Optional: In the statistics panel (top right, second tab), click “Clear”.
Alternatively: use “End Session” followed by “New Session” to reset statistics.
After Each Session (Offboarding)
-
Adjust the match time for the last match so that it ends 2–3 minutes before the session ends (to allow time for headset return).

Clean all headsets – Do not use disinfectant on the lenses!
-
Replace BoboVR batteries and charge the used ones.
Optional: Press “End Session” to display statistics and block further gameplay.
Note: Press “New Session” to remove the block and reset stats.
After the Day Ends
-
Clean all headsets.
-
Remove batteries from all headsets and charge them.
-
Turn off all headsets (press and hold the power button for 4–5 seconds).
-
Ensure all headsets are powered off.
-
Connect all headsets to the charging cables.
Setting Up the Spectator Headset
The spectator headset is not only for accompanying persons but also for checking if a player's mapping has shifted. Please check regularly.
Note: Mapping can also shift on the spectator headset.

Start the Laser Limbo app on the Quest.
-
If necessary, interrupt the auto-join loop by pressing the left menu button.
-
Go to the “Settings” menu.
-
Activate Spectator Mode.
-
In the “Join” tab, select Auto Join.
-
Position the headset to get the best overview of the playfield.
-
You can now use the headset to stream to a TV display using Google Chromecast HD.
Common Problems & Solutions
Mapping is misaligned (vests don't sit correctly)
-
Take the player's headset.
-
Press the left menu button.
-
Select Re-Calibration.
Mapping keeps shifting despite re-calibration
-
Take the player's headset.
-
Press the right menu button to open the Quest OS.
-
Go to “Settings” → “Privacy and safety” → “Device permissions”.
-
Select Clear physical space history and confirm.
-
Press “Resume” to return to Laser Limbo.
-
Perform re-calibration again.
Mapping keeps shifting and headset shows black screen with “Tracking lost”
-
Turn off the headset (press and hold power for 4–5 seconds).
-
Restart the headset, open Laser Limbo, and log in again.
Black screen with three dots / real world visible but no menu
-
Briefly press the Quest power button and select Cancel.
-
If that doesn't help: restart the headset.
Critical Bugs – One Player Affected Only
Method 1:
-
In the Operator App, go to the Match Panel (top right), select the player.
-
Click the “X” to kick them.
-
The player should automatically log in again.
Method 2 (if Method 1 fails):
-
Take the player’s headset.
-
Quit and restart Laser Limbo.
-
The player should automatically log in again.
Method 3 (if Method 2 fails):
-
Restart the headset.
Critical Bugs – All Players Affected
-
Completely close the Operator App and restart it.
-
Log in again and start the server.
-
All players should automatically log back in.
